Anna Outdoors offers a range of creative services which support learning outside of the classroom

Hi, my name is Anna. I am passionate about engaging and inspiring children to enjoy outdoor learning through the creation of innovative and inspiring workshops, activities, trails, parties and events.

I design fun-filled bespoke outdoor learning programmes which can be linked to the National Curriculum and learning outcomes for early years and key stages 1, 2 and 3 which I tailor to school grounds, parks and open spaces.

I have 10 years’ experience creating and delivering outdoor learning, Forest School sessions, Continuous Professional Development (CPD) training, interpretation projects, volunteer activities, working with Friends of groups and on Heritage Lottery Funded projects.

Forest School

I deliver fun, creative and imaginative Forest School programmes. If you are looking to set-up a Forest School, need ideas for Forest School sessions or require a freelance Forest School practitioner to plan, deliver and evaluate your sessions I can help. I offer one-off Forest School taster days and introductory 6 and 12-week Forest School programmes. I have worked with many schools across Kent to develop long term Forest School provision and have led Forest School CPD training sessions since 2008.

Westgate Parks

I am licensed by Canterbury City Council to deliver educational activities in the Westgate Parks, Canterbury. I designed, and currently deliver the ‘Wild About Westgate’ outdoor learning programme in the Westgate Gardens and Toddler’s Cove. The outdoor learning programme is packed full of exciting educational activities linked to the National Curriculum. The Westgate Parks are situated close to Canterbury City centre and are rich in heritage and wildlife providing the perfect setting for outdoor learning. Programmes include: river dipping, the Great Stour river study and the wildlife Olympics.

Outreach Education

I can come to you and provide advice and support on how to set-up a Forest School and develop your outdoor learning provision. I enjoy creating interactive workshops and trails which make the most of school grounds and enrich classroom based learning. As well as the creation of thought-provoking Forest School and outdoor learning areas I can also provide advice on the creation or re-establishment of ponds, wildlife gardens, wildflower areas, sensory gardens, physic gardens and vegetable plots.

Consultancy

I design innovative outdoor learning packages linked to curriculum objectives for schools, environmental centres, parks services and heritage and countryside sites. I can create outdoor learning programmes, trails and activity workshops bespoke to the features of your setting. I have experience in developing outdoor learning sessions in both urban, heritage and countryside settings including leading on the delivery of a 5-year £1.1 million Heritage Lottery Project activity plan (interpretation, events, volunteer programmes and outdoor learning) in Canterbury’s Westgate Gardens.
